Dear Readers,
2009 is nearly over, and I look back and see so many things I didn't get to finish. I'll have to get them
done in 2010. I am looking forward to revisiting Shahzar's world of Radaeh, and finishing the story of
her grandmother, Jamilah. The plot has really thrown me for a loop with the heroine falling in love with
the man she is forced to marry. Woops. How did that happen? It presents quite a dilemma for me as I
did not originally intend that. Once I finish Jamilah, I will return to Rook, Shahzar's second son. His
story is very old for me, one I thought up when I was a child. I think the problem has been in the telling,
and from the point of view I originally began in, which was first person.
If you're looking for something to read, try Demon's Redemption, a novella I co-authored with Sandy
Samson. It veers from my usual grim style to comedy, and is a light romance with a lot of laughs and
body switching. Demon's Redemption has received very favorable reviews. It is also available as an
audio book on Audible.com and in print through the publisher, Purple Sword Publications.
I will be at the upcoming Tucson Festival of Books this year. Look for me in author tent 2 on Saturday
between 12-2, March 13, 2010. The event is huge and has so many things for people to do, from face
painting to presentations to just finding more great books to read. I will be giving away bookworm bags
and signing copies of books. I will have a limited supply of books for sale as well.
I hope you have a safe and happy new year.
